Weekend Football Tips – 2-3 February
Our football tips for the weekend come from the English Football League, where League One leaders Tranmere entertain Carlisle.
Weekend Football Predictions
Tranmere (1.95) v Carlisle (4.00); Draw (3.75)
League leaders Tranmere have not been in action since a 2-1 victory away at Brentford three weeks ago and Ronnie Moore’s refreshed side will be looking to maintain their place at the top of the table.
Rovers have a superb record at Prenton Park and are undefeated in 24 of their last 26 home matches in League One.
Michael O’Halloran has extended his loan spell from Bolton, whilst Michael Kay, Andy Robinson and Adam McGurk should feature despite the trio being involved in a car crash earlier in the week.
Tranmere have won five of their last six games in the league and a win on Saturday should guarantee that Rovers remain top of the pile.
Visitors Carlisle have the joint-worst defensive record in the division and Gregg Abbott’s side currently sit seven points above the relegation zone.
The Cumbrian club are yet to record a clean sheet away from home in the league this season and the recent record away from Brunton Park points to five away defeats in their last six outings on the road.
Defenders Mike Edwards and Peter Murphy could both return for Carlisle, but Chris Cantler is likely to remain sidelined.
Hosts Tranmere will be eager to record all three points on Saturday and Ronnie Moore’s side should be too strong for Carlisle.
Tranmere to win @1.95
