Premiership Betting Tips 2nd & 3rd April

Liverpool look increasingly revitalised under Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish and have won their last two games. Liverpool are beginning to get all their key players and new arrivals back to form and fitness. Captain Steven Gerrard is rumoured to be fit for the match at the Hawthorns, Andy Carroll has returned to the fold and Uruguayan Luis Suarez looks a real handful. Dirk Kuyt has also impressed in recent weeks both for club and country.

Liverpool have a superb record against West Brom in the Premier League winning 9 out of 9 head to head encounters without conceding a single goal. Some 29 goals without reply in 810 minutes of football. The impact of Roy Hodgson is already evident for the Baggies with the team more disciplined and well organised, especially at home, but if this match sways from the draw then Liverpool look the more likely to come away with the 3 points.

Liverpool 0AH (Asian Handicap) @1.675

Roberto Mancini has to be careful. Competition for that fourth Champions League place is intensifying with Liverpool and Tottenham looking to make late charges. Off field distractions from the enigmatic and temperamental Mario Balotelli cannot help matters, but the possible return of Carlos Tevez will provide a much needed impetus, especially with injuries mounting at the back. David Silva is showing signs of his quality and Edin Dzeko has yet to burst into life.

Steve Bruce’s Sunderland are in dreadful form recently and have not won in 6 games in the Premiership. During the midweek internationals Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan put in energetic displays; 2 days after travelling from the Congo. Confidence is low for the Black Cats and without the support of the home crowd at the Stadium of Light look set for another defeat.

Manchester City to win @1.5

No no no! Liverpool bad bet. They have not been good on the road this season and WBA are unbeaten with Woy.

I have had 2 Premiership bets this weekend one of them being Liverpool 0AH. The Value bet for me though is Wolves 0AH @ 2.75. Newcastle have won 1 of their last 6 games (vs. Birmingham) and are missing Leon Best and more importantly Cheik Tiote. With Wolves likely to line-up 4-5-1, I can see them bossing the game in midfield with Matt Jarvis & Jamie O’Hara becoming more and more influential in recent matches. There are no shortage of goals in the side either, having beaten Villa 1-0 (with 2 goals disallowed), putting 3 past Tottenham & 4 past Blackpool in their last 3 games.

There’s very good value in the Wolves 0AH bet and they have been battling and playing fairly well in recent weeks. The injury to Doyle is a slight concern though as well as Newcastle’s unpredictability this season. But the bet does cover the draw and it might come down to who needs the points the most.

If I knew for sure Gerrard played on Saturday, I would put my money on an away win for Liverpool. A draw is still very possible here. City should grab the three points on home ground.
