International Football Tips For The Weekend 25th & 26th March
Austria and Belgium square off once again in Group A after an epic 4-4 draw in the reverse back in October. There were 7 different goalscorers that day and since then goals have been flying in for both sides.
Austria’s last 4 games have seen at least 3 goals, but Werder Bremen’s Marko Anautovic formerly of Inter Milan is Dietmar Constantini’s star player. Opponents Belgium has some emerging young talents, none moreso than hugely coveted Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku. Everton’s Marouane Fellaini is missing, but Alex Witsel, Steven Defour, Moussa Dembele and Eden Hazard should provide enough attacking options to see another match full of goals.

Another game that might be high on the goals count is England’s visit to the Millenium Stadium. 9 out of England’s last 10 European qualifiers have finished with at least 3 goals. Having Frank Lampard back will be as big a boost for England as it has been for Chelsea, meanwhile the competition for places will likely see players such as Jermaine Defoe, Andy Carroll, Ashley Young and Peter Crouch all eager to prove they are worthy of more regular starting berths.
Gary Speed’s Wales party this time around is much stronger than the one that suffered a 3-0 defeat against Ireland last time out. Crucially Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Craig Bellamy are all included, whilst Leicester’s Andy King has been in fine form this season. Home support for the Welsh will be a boost as goals are expected in this Group G clash.
